Interesting, but about 2 years too late...

So I see a top read story and the link reads "Unwed birth rate reaches all time high in US." So I click on it and the headline reads..."More Babies Born in 2007 Than Any Other Year in History." What is wrong with that??? Although that is an interesting fact, it is 2009. Almost two whole years later.  Why cover that now? I even double checked the published date to make sure it was recent news.  Not only is it old news, but the link was very misleading.  The web editor might want to do some adjusting.  Click to read the old news...

  1. Alex,

If you look closely at the first paragraph, you'll see that the story came out the day after the study was released. Remember, the study can't begin until the year ends, then someone has to do it, get it reviewed, then finally published. Yes, someone could've done a quick and dirty comparison of the numbers and reported the record birth rate Jan 2008. but doing a study, comparing teen births, out of wedlock births, etc, takes a little time.

But, you are totally right about the links, but you should tell readers where these links will take them so they know what you mean by misleading.
